Soft negative photographed by Richard Pratt Sylvia on March 29, 1943. Image of the auxiliary schooner ABENAKI aground at Bostwick Point on Gardner's Island, New York. ABENAKI was a 50'1" auxiliary schooner, sail #54, built in 1930 by Charles A. Morse & Son of Thomaston, Maine from designs by John G. Alden. Other names later were STORMALONG and during World War II, CGR-3032. Object was found in negative sleeve stamped, "X035" and marked "CGR-3032 (Abenaki) aground / on Bostwick Point, Gardner's Island/ 29 March, 1943". Object is from a collection of 445 soft negatives taken by Richard Pratt Sylvia of the World War II American Anti-Submarine Coastal Picket Patrol fleet.
