Cleat; probably from vessel built or repaired at the Britt Brothers yard, West Lynn and Saugus MA; came to Mystic Seaport in tool chest 97.153.1 owned by Andrew B. Britt Sr., [1868-1941]; cleat is cast bronze, similar to 'sea-grip' cleats advertised on p. 88 of Durkee Company catalog #60, 1954; some white paint around fastenings.
