Raced at Detroit, MI on the Detroit River. Sponsored by the Detroit Yacht Club. Entrants were: MISS ENGLAND II, a British entry driven by Wakefield which was disqualified and the disqualification was overturned; MISS AMERICA VIII driven by George Wood and Vance Smith which won the 1931 race; MISS AMERICA IX driven by Gar Wood and Orlin Johnson.
The rules in effect in 1931 were that the 1st country to win 2 races was the winner.
