Barograph (recording barometer) housed in mahogany case with a glass front. One end is hinged half way up and lifts from the opposite end which is secured by a hook and loop fastener. On top are a handle and a small ivory label reading: ENREGISTREURS RICHARD/ BREVETES S.G.D.G./ 8, IMPASSE FESSART/ PARIS. Barograph itself has double bellows and mechanical linkage to pen, recording drum containing wind-up mechanism. Seven day chart graduated from 28 to 31. Winding key missing. Interior of case cover reads: Zi-ka-wei./ Observatory./
