Aneroid barometer set in velvet-lined leather case and secured by 2 screws. On hasp of case: "L.Z./ PARIS". On top of brass instrument: "N 1950/ Th. Usteri-Reinacher/ Zurich". Donor refers to the instrument as a "Goldschmidt". The arc with mercury is the pressure regulator. Equipped with small magnifying lens to allow user to set index on vernier scale. Metal and leather hinges enable one to use the instrument in hand without removing from case.
