Mariner's compass made by Ritchie, Boston, called "The Fisherman" number 87974, mounted on double gimbals, quarter point card and flat bezel. Compass is off the CATHERINE, an Essex built knockabout fishing schooner, 1915, and also used 1945 aboard the CHRISTINE which was a party fishing boat. Compass obtained by our donor from Capt. Archie A. MacLeod. Cover of box missing. 1938 (per Treworgy 4/30/86).
