Wooden octant. In original pine case, painted blue. Dated circa 1750 [This is probably the oldest octant in the collection.] Mahogany frame, brass fittings, ivory inlay, and wood (?) scales. KLM Marker's name does not appear; initials J.X.A.S. on ivory maker's plate.
