Octant owned by Capt. Elam Eldridge. Apparently made by E. Parker of London, ca 1780-1785. His maker's mark of an anchor and his initials was scribed on the ivory degree scale. E (foul anchor) P. Trade labels for Edmund M. Blunt, NY and for S. Thaxter & Son, Boston.
