Vernier octant with ebony frame, brass fittings, and ivory scales. Has peep sight, one set of shades, and no handle. Name plate engraved "R. Moretti Cardiff". It is representative of octants at this stage of development. It is capable of measuring angles to the nearest minute of arc.
