Octant, ebony frame, ivory arc 95 deg., ivory vernier scale; has sun shade glasses. No maker's name. English manufacture, dated circa 1780 [Ref: Willem Morzer Bruyns, July 2006.] Stamped on the scale a ‘non-foul anchor’, without initials.
