Ebony and brass octant, c. 1850, without case, maker's name, Vernier scale and ivory plate on reverse; horizon glass frame bent, tangent screw badly bent, one foot badly splintered, and possibly a set of horizon shades missing. Scale 0 - 95 degrees. A ‘foul anchor’ without initials (between 45°-50°) [Ref: Willem Morzer Bruyns, July 2006.]
