[The following from Willem Merzer Bruyns, July 2006: With a gyroscopic artificial horizon, signed ‘Gyrosextant Bonneau, Derrien & LePrieur’, and on the scale ‘La precision Moderne, Paris, 2358’. Dated ca. 1920. ‘Georges Derrien.lieutenant de vaisseau de reserve’ (French naval reserve lieutenant, seems to be the inventor, ‘Yves de Prier, directeur Technique de la Societe La Precision Moderne, 78 rue d’Anjou, Central 19-29’ seems to be the manufacturer.
