Brass tulip-pattern frame sextant in a box-jointed mahogany case, after 1850. Sextant has a silver inlaid scale and is marked: Manufactured by Heath & Co. Ld for G. & T. Davison Newcastle on Tyne / Case label reads: "Chas. C. Hutchinson / ... 126 Commercial St. / BOSTON / Written in pencil inside cover: R. Devereux / Searsport, Me". Case: 11 3/16" the longer side x 4 15/16" high
