Brass tulip-pattern frame sextant by Gerrard of Liverpool with silver arc set into brass section; sighting scope, shades, index glass, horizon glass (out and resilvered), partly turned wooden bridge handle, magnifier, 2 metal feet and in case capstan's wrench and sun shade for sighting scope; engraved: "Gerrard. Liverpool n° 1223" Dovetailed wooden case with lock (key missing), front brass handle, 2 hinges and 2 side hook latches; top cracked. From index glass through center of arc 8 1/2".
