Sextant, bronze frame, brass limb w/silver scale graduated -5 deg. to +157 deg. by 1 deg. subdivided by 10', limb engraved "Q601" and "WILSON FLETCHER, BRUCE & SONS LTD. CARDIFF. BARRY DOCK. NEWPORT & SWANSEA." Vernier scale, reinforced index arm w/swinging magnifier, index mirror w/4 shades, horizon glass w/3 shades, wood handle, 4 telescopes, 2 eyepieces. In wood box, brass shield plate on lid, ivory plaque on side of lid printed "BELL PATTERN/ MARK III/ SEXTANT", handle on side, inside lid Certificate of Examination from National Physical Laboratory, dated 2/1919, John Bliss label glued to certificate, ivory tag nailed on back inside of lid printed "T.J. WILLIAMS & SON Ltd./ Incorp. THOS. L.A. AINSLEY/ NAUTICAL INSTRUMENT MAKERS/ CARDIFF, BARRY & NEWPORT". In box Informal Entry Manifest & Receipt, dated 12/10/43, No. 628496 for sextant. Measuring to 132°.
