Telescope, brass-bound and trimmed; belonged to Capt. John Collins of the ROSCIUS, which he and his associates built. ROSCIUS was one of the "Dramatic Line", named for actors, and sailing from Cape Cod in the Liverpool trade. Maker: Henry Frodsham, Liverpool. Engraved on the brass at small end: "Presented to Capt. John Collins by the Passengers of the ship Shakespeare in Decr. 1837".
