Builder's half model of the extreme clipper ship SWEEPSTAKES. This ship was built in New York City by Aaron and Daniel Westervelt in 1853. Material is pine lifts on pine backboard, both natural finish. Wess carved figurehead. Bowsprit stub, stem, keel, sternpost, rudder. Forecastle indicated.
