Half model of sidewheel steamer G.R. KELSEY. Vessel built by George Greenman & Co., Mystic, Ct. in 1878. Model construction: 4 lifts, starboard view, no backboard, natural finish, pine lifts, some station lines drawn on top lift and back of model, keel broken at stern, top and bottom lifts chipped off at stern. Straight power boat stem, hollow entrance, considerable deadrise, extended yacht counter, round stern. Label "Original Builders Model of Early Type/ steamboat, possibly the 'G.R. Kelsey'/ built by Geo. Greenman & Co. at Mystic, Ct./ in 1878. This is the only recorded/ greenam model built in pine, possibly/ accounted for...last vessel of the ...by Thos. S. Gre.../...eenman who.../ the y...A side.../ wheeler was 299. Model from attic/ ...Thos. S....reenman home in Greenmanville/ ...Harkness/ New London".
