Congressional medal, John Paul Jones, struck by act of Congress, work of Hungarian artist Moritz Furst, made in France. Furst was medalist, engineer and die-sinker brought (1782-?) to Philadelphia in 1807 to work at mint, but went into business on his own. Face bears bust of John Paul Jones and inscription "Joanni Paulo Jones", "Classis Praefecto", "Comitia Americanna"; obverse bears naval battle, capture of SERAPIS, inscription "Hostium navibus", "Captis aut fugatis", and "Ad Oram Scotiae xxlll Sept MDCCLXXVIIIII".
