Watercolor of sidewheel steamer CONNECTICUT, 1848, by Jurgan Frederick Huge, German-American (1809-1878). Built for the Conn. Steamboat Co.; ran a few months from New Haven to NY. Afterwards on the Stonington Line. Later placed on the Norwich Line, remaining there many years. Finally became a tugboat on the Hudson. Sloop and lighthouse at right.
