Japanese Satsuma bowl is white with gold gilt, with little red and blue painted designs. Two main scenes are of a man and a woman in a sitting position. Two handles, positioned at top, are painted gold. Bowl itself rests on 3 legs with animal heads at top. Shaped more like a jar. Cover missing.
