Sea captain's liquor chest for use on ship board. Dark wood box with hinged lid and dark metal brackets on corner edges. Swivel handel on each end. Locking mechanism on front of chest has a metal plate on the bottom half and a hinged arm attached to the lid; keyhole in plate. The inside of the box is lined with blue paper printed with white design. Interior is divided into compartments holding six large glass bottles and six small glass bottles. Loose wooden tray has cut-outs that appear to had held glasses. Bottles are all rectangular in shape, clear glass decorated in gilt, with round-topped glass stoppers. Small bottles are approximately 6.5" tall; large bottles are approximately 9" tall.
