Ivory jagging wheel mounted on whale tooth decorated with a ship, whale, and "as Jack who roams the rolling sea/ - the whaleman's life for me"; inscribed on reverse "to Sadie Patterson, New Bedford, 1861"; wheel and tooth vaguely in shape of fish with the wheel as the fish tail and the opposite wooden end of tooth as the fish head, with piece of dark bone joining the tail and body; wheel is notched.
