Builder's half model of U.S. gunboat VICKSBURG; owned and built by Maxson, Fish & Co., Mystic, CT. Built 1863; 18 lifts with laminate deck, starboard view, varnished pine, 3rd lift from top with inlaid squares representing gunports. Bottom 5 lifts damaged at bow, bottom 3 lifts damaged at stern. Backboard painted black, gold moulded edges, corners cutaway. Heavy armament: 100 pounder Parrot gun, two 30 pounder Parrot guns, 14 broadside guns. Engines and boiler by Mystic Iron Works. Plaque on hull gold lettering "U.S. CUTTER", painted black over the letters. Flared bow, deep forefoot, straight keel, straight sternpost, short counter, round stern.
