Sternboard of ship of the period of early 1800. Maroon, white and gold. Letter "B" on shield in center. It is believed to have come from the British brig BOXER, taken by the American ENTERPRISE in 1813 near Portland, from which city the sternboard came. Captains of both ships in the engagement were mortally wounded; both were buried at Portland with full and equal honors.
