6 1/8 x 9 1/2 in. photograph of painting. Image of the U.S. frigate CONSTITUTION engaging British ships LEVANT AND CYANE. The USS CONSTITUTION, known as "Old Ironsides" was built for the US Navy in 1797 by the Edmond Hartt Shipyard of Boston, Mass. from designs by Joshua Humphreys. The British warships HMS Cyane and HMS Levant fought the USS Constitution on 20 February 1815 in mid-Atlantic. Both Cyane and Levant were captured.
