Framed oil on canvas painting, signed l.r. "J. E. Buttersworth", showing the New York Yacht Club Race in 1875. Schooner yachts depicted are MOHAWK and MAGIC, both owned by William T. Garner. One year later, on 20 July 1876, as crew was getting up anchor with all sails set, puffs of wind would hit and capsize MOHAWK, drowning Mr. Garner, his wife, two guests, and the cabin boy who was serving them lunch.
