Costume doll, American, Black woman and baby. Nut heads, fabric; "twig" body brittle. Woman's head is painted black with white dots for eyes; baby's is left natural (much lighter) with a simple face drawn or painted on in black. Originally labeled/titled a "mammy doll," indicating that that baby was intended to be white.
