Iron carronade, probably naval 42-pounder, purportedly from U.S. frigate CONSTITUTION. Ventral loop attachment (original carriage missing); elevating screw through cascabel. Faintly impressed to right of powder hole: "BFV"; faintly impressed to left of powder hole: IC C:. Carronade has many layers of old black paint. HOA elevating screw 18"; bore 8".
