Large pine sea chest with beveled sides and dovetailed corners. Brass plaque inside cover reads: "Henry Trowbridge's Sea Chest Ship "Betsy" 1799". Chest was made for Henry Trowbridge (1781-1849) of New Haven to use on his sealing voyage around the world 1799-1801 on the BETSY with Capt. William Howell. Used as flag locker.
