Framed chromolithograph, severly trimmed, a starboard view of mail/passenger auxiliary steam and sail vessel ALASKA, on open water; flags flying, stern to bow are: the British flag, US Mail, four signal flags (ship name or georgraphical information), red pennant reading ALASKA, Guion Line company flag and the United States flag; black hull with portholes on deck cabins visible; ship name ALASKA legible on bow; four masts and two red-striped stacks, black smoke visible; nine lifeboats and numerous passenger and crew figures on deck; poorly matted and framed; identical image to 1953.3583 but without the lower border and information printed there.
