Victorian period punched paper embroidery; "A. South. Sea. Whaler" embroidered across top in captial letters, above a stitched image of a whaling ship; beneath image in stitching done in gold, silver, green, brown, and black is stitched "Albert Ashby/ Born/ Feb 8th/ 1863."; surface also decorated with small, applied decals of children, cupids, flowers and sentiments.
