ship's medicine chest

Medicine chest of mahogany for shipboard use. Hinged cover with lock, has pull out drawer in bottom for bandage material, top compartment has 33 receptacles for bottles, ointments, etc. Contains a volume "Shipmaster's Medical and Surgical Help and First Aid". Plate inside the lid reads "made by the Army Navy Cooperative Society, Ltd. 105 Victoria St., London, S.W. #6 Department, The Yacht." Chest was in use on the board the yacht ELMINA.
