Ship's surgeon chest, lined with red velvet and containing a Liverpool label of T.B. Hardman. Once the property of Capt. C. Herbert Wolfe of Mystic (1857-1927). Shield-shaped brass on cover reads: Capt. C.H. Wolfe/ Bark/ Geo. Mom (sic.) [MOON]/ Mystic. Chest contains: forceps, roller or tooth puller, 4 half-curve surgical needles, suture thread, saw, tourniquet webbing and brass screw clamp, hypodermic syringe and catheters.
