Woods Hole spritsail boat EXPLORER ex T.C.; designed and built by Crosby, Osterville, Massachusetts, c. 1890; carvel planked, centerboard; high coaming which is let into the upper part of the transom aft and terminates forward in sharp point just abaft stem; narrow side decks outside coaming; two thwarts either end of centerboard case, stern sheet seats aft; white interior and topsides; gray seats and floors; red bottom; buff deck (8/72); equipment: two masts, rudder and tiller; see Seaport-built reproduction 1973.40.
