Carte de visite in album 1979.217. Late accessioning; mounted on white card. Square corners, portrait of standing, bearded man, handwritten in pen on card at bottom and on back "John A. Burgess/ Somerset/ Mass" and in pencil on back "Ship "David Crockett"". Burgess was master of clipper ship DAVID CROCKETT from 1860 until 1874 when he was washed overboard off the River Plate.
