Glass negative by Capt. George Comer, taken in the Canadian Arctic, 1897-1905. Depicts whaling schooner ERA at Cape Fullerton, Hudson Bay. Photo taken in July, but year uncertain, circa 1897-1905. The whaling schooner ERA was built in 1847, wrecked in 1906. Identification from original envelope: Photo 164, A51. Lantern slide 1966.339.82 was made from this negative.
