Lantern slide prepared by F.C. Lockwood of Brooklyn, NY, from an original photograph by Capt. George Comer. Used by Comer to illustrate lectures about his Arctic and seafaring experiences. Depicts five Inuit inside a snow house. Identified by Comer as two families of the "Show-nock-tock" tribe who have traveled more than 200 miles to trade. Possibly refers to an Inuit group alternately known as the Sauniktumiut. Photo taken at Cape Fullerton, Hudson Bay, April 10, 1901.
