Watercolor, starboard view of 3-masted ship ABULA (bu. 1805, Haddam, CT), written in black at bottom "Ship Abula Captn John Dillingham entering the Port of Marseilles May 10. 1806" and lower right "Nicolas Cammillieri 18.." (cut off). Cut down, black border, piece out of top left, female figurehead, black seaman on deck, 2 windmills and fortress at right, sailboat at left, coast in background. US flag (10 red, 9 white stripes), 8 men on deck, homeward bound pennant from mainmast. Illustrated in "The Log", Vol. 29, No. 1, April 1976.
