sea chest

Sea chest which was issued at discharge from GEORG STAGE. Chest is painted gray, has one small compartment inside, a metal handle on either end and a chain to prevent the hinged lid from falling back. Inside lid: ANDREW THOMSEN/ GEORG STAGE/ 1906 (Stencilled). Below this a 4" x 2 1/2" photograph of Mr. Thomsen as a young man was tacked.
