Massachusetts Humane Society surfboat. Combination of carvel planking and batten seam construction, rounded bottom, bent frame, double end, partially decked, three thwarts, and eight rowlocks. Painted red bottom, white topsides, brown trim, and light blue and gray inside. Equipment from 1969 includes: 4 oars, 4 booms. Diesel engine installed with skeg c. 1955, but was removed before 1972. Built and designed by James E. Graves, Marblehead, MA, c. 1900. Previously used for lifesaving at Station 10, Marblehead, MA.
