Quart sized clear glass bottle with fancy stopper knotwork. Contains model of 3-masted ship GEORG STAGE (1947.1948), flying Danish flag, and tender, on simulated water. Lighthouse, lightkeeper's house and two palm trees on simulated land also in bottle. Piece of paper underneath water, inside bottle, reads: "Brooklyn Febr 1st 1931./ Model of Danish Schoolship/ Georg Stage, is a present/ to Mr. Carl Jurgensen/ from Chr. Andersen." Carl Jurgensen worked on this ship until about 1916. The maker of the model was a Danish seaman and friend of Mr. Jurgensen. The bottle rests on wooden stand.
