Chinese export brise fan with carved elephant ivory sticks and white feathers decorated in blue, gold and silver. Man and woman are pictured in garden setting. Reverse, according to donor, bears flowers and butterflies. In modern fan shape display case with crackled gold frame. Fan brought home by Capt. Simon Merrill Sewall, clipper ship FLYAWAY, 1854-58. Maribu bird feathers.
