16 1/2 x 28 inch chromolithograph made by Currier & Ives ca. 1872. Image title is of, "THE YACHT SQUADRON AT NEWPORT" and shows a grouping of yachts in the harbor off Newport, Rhode Island. The identified yachts are DAUNTLESS, PEERLESS, FLEETWING, PALMER, WANDERER, MAGIC, RAMBLER, AMERICA, DREADNOUGHT, CLYPSO, COLUMBIA, TAROLINTA, SAPPHO, and MADELINE. Many of the yachts named were involved in the International Yacht Cup Races (later known as the America's Cup) in the 1870's. At left, below image: "PUBLISHED BY CURRIER & IVES".
