8 x 10 gelatin silver print made by Rosenfeld and Sons from an original negative by James Burton on August 7th ca. 1903. Port bow view of the steam yacht NORTH STAR underway. NORTH STAR was designed by W. C. Storey, and built by Naval Construction & Arm., Ltd. 1893. She was also built as VENETIA, and later renamed, SYBARITE, and CHEROKEE. She was owned by Cornelius Vanderbilt from 1903-1914 under the name NORTH STAR. James Burton sold his collection to Morris Rosenfeld circa 1910, dating this image between 1903 and 1910. Handwritten on back: "North Star - Cornelius Vanderbilt". Stamped in blue: "MORRIS ROSENFELD & SONS / PHOTOGRAPHIC ILLUSTRATORS / 116 NASSAU STREET, N.Y. 10038 / Phone 233-4970".
