5 x 7 Kodak safety negative taken by Rosenfeld and Sons on August 4, 1934. Port beam view of the 25' Dodge Boat Works runabout DELPHINE IV (built 1925) under way. Image descr.: Long shot, main image toward upper right corner of neg., hull very high up out of water. Background: very end of lg. motor yacht at edge of image; Distance: hills, sky. She is driven by William McKinley Horn, racing for the Gold Cup 1934. DELPHINE IV raced and won the Gold Cup 1932. She was designed by George F. Crouch, and built by Dodge Boat Works, in Detroit, MI 1925. In her early days she was named SOLAR PLEXUS. Handwritten on original negative sleeve: "Delphine IV / G 31" and stamped: "68957F".
