5x7 in. glass negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons at the Indian Harbor 25th Gold Cup Regatta held August 6, 1927 at the Indian Harbor Yacht Club, Greenwich, Connecticut. Image of the hydroplane GREENWICH FOLLY, #G8, underway, port beam view, vessel slightly off-centered to the left. Background filled with various vessels and in the distance a shoreline. Owner and driver in 1924 was George H. Townsend, a member of the Indian Harbor Yacht Club and his mechanic was William Gillette. Originally named MISS MOTORMETER, the 27'5" runabout racer was built in 1924 and renamed by 1926 as GREENWICH FOLLY, racing #D4 and then #G-8. She was designed by Frederick K. Lord and built by Henry B. Nevins, Inc. of City Island, New York. Typed neg. sleeve info.: "24252-F". Stamped: AUG - 6 1927 / GOLD CUP". Handwritten: "Greenwich Follies[sic] G8 / Box 1861".
