5x7 safety negative photographed by Morris Rosenfeld during the Gold Cup races held at Lake Montauk, Long Island, New York on August 16, 1931. Image shows a port beam view of HOTSY TOTSY, #G4, the winner of the Gold Cup, underway at high speed with the forward cockpit covered, and two persons in the aft cockpit. Buoy markers are to the left of the bow. In the background are many blurred cruisers, with a treed shoreline and sky in the distance. Entire activity is in the upper half of the negative, lower half of negative is all water.
