8 x 10 gelatin silver print, made from a 5 x 7 Kodak safety negative. Originally taken by Rosenfeld and Sons circa 1930. Scenic view of boats moored in City Island, NY, seen under a foggy dawn sky. The two power boats seen moored on the right are the Rosenfeld boats, used by the family to capture many of their maritime images. The boat more to the left is FOTO (I) with the lapstrake construction, while FOTO III is seen further to the right. (FOTO II was lost in a hurricane). Vessels seen moored at dawn under a Mackerel sky (a sky filled with rows of cirrocumulus or small altocumulus clouds). For more information see: A CENTURY UNDER SAIL, text by Stanley Z.
