6x8 glass negative photographed by Rosenfeld and Sons on July 22, 1912, off of Larchmont Yacht Club, Larchmont, New York. Image of a sloop, sail #P64, bow view, undersail, photographed during a Larchmont Yacht Club racing event. Image of WINDWARD, a 50' P Class sloop built in 1909 by B. Frank Wood of City Island, New York from designs by William Gardner and co-owned in 1911 by Richard A. Monks and J.F. Monks. Other racing sloops are visible in the background. Information written on the original negative sleeve: "Cover / %64 / L.Y.C. / 7/22 1912 / Plate 512 / Box 40". The word "Cover" means that the Rosenfelds felt this was good enough to be used as a cover shot for a magazine and may have been. CREDIT LINE: Mystic Seaport, Rosenfeld Collection.
